How to Cancel Wave Accounting

You can cancel Wave's paid add-ons independently without losing your free account, or permanently delete your entire account online. Your free accounting features remain active unless you explicitly close your account.

Cancellation Steps

Go directly to Wave Accounting cancellation page
  1. Sign in to Wave

    Visit waveapps.com and log in with your email and password.

  2. Open Account Settings

    Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select Account Settings from the menu.

  3. Cancel paid add-ons

    Go to Plan & Billing and click Cancel next to Wave Payroll or Wave Payments to remove individual features.

  4. Close your account (optional)

    Go to Account > Close Account and click the red button to permanently delete your account and all data.

  • Export all your financial data before closing your account—data is permanently deleted within 30 days with no recovery option.
  • Keep your free Wave account active even if you cancel paid add-ons, as it costs nothing and preserves your historical records.
  • If cancelling Wave Payroll mid-cycle, contact support@waveapps.com to discuss prorated refunds for unused service time.
